Type of the activity: Education. Education on health issues for specific societal groups, either in the form of projects (set of tasks for a certain group over a fixed period of time), events (something notable that happens) or conferences (form meeting about ideas related to a particular topic, usually over several days).
Through Conferences and Presentations, our aim is to introduce students to research and specialties which may not be enough studied in the curricula, while bringing emblematic speakers, both local and from all over the world, to teach and inspire them. By doing this, we also attempt to promote the importance of teamwork within a medical unit. Furthermore, by having access to a bunch of multidisciplinary conferences, students learn how to approach a disease through the lens of multiple medical specialities, so that the patient may be given the best care possible. Not only that participants have access to high-quality medical events, but they also have the opportunities to present papers on clinical cases or research they have done, in front of specialized juries.

Developing into a healthcare professional is a long road, where extensive knowledge and several aptitudes, such as public speaking, presentation skills, team work, hands-on techniques, etc. need to be acquired. In some cases, the curricula does not suffice. Other times, the methods of teaching or the subjects presented are not attractive enough to engage students and determine them to study more intensely.

Achievable: For each congress, the number of volunteers varies between ⅓ and ¼ of the number of participants.
Realistic: some of our congresses have already reached 10 or 20 editions

3. Good results obtained throughout the tests given at the end of workshops
Each congress or conference has its own guidelines, which are similar from one edition to another, but may differ among the faculties. I will add some of the guidelines or methodologies bellow, to have a general idea on how some LCs organize their events.
Interdisciplinary conferences – Participants are selected based on the timestamp of a submitted google form until the maximum number of students admitted to the conference is reached. Accepted students receive a confirmation email. Entry to the conference is restricted to students that appear on the list. The conference lasts for approximately 2 hours, in which 3-5 speakers support the idea of the theme based on their speciality, for 20 minutes each. There is a 15 minute Q&A session at the end. Participation is awarded with a diploma that participants receive by email.

Plans for evaluation:
We aim to assess the impact of the activity through
1. measuring the number of participants
2. comparing the number of participants to the previous editions in the same centre
3. feedback forms to the participants regarding the level of satisfaction with the event
4. evaluating the students at the end of the workshops
