Type of the activity: Education. Education on health issues for specific societal groups, either in the form of projects (set of tasks for a certain group over a fixed period of time), events (something notable that happens) or conferences (form meeting about ideas related to a particular topic, usually over several days).
This project, carried out jointly with AEM PUCE, was aimed at a total of 50 students from the health areas, who are studying any semester of the course, with the purpose of providing tools that allow identify the normal anatomy and diagnose different pathologies of the central nervous system that are evidenced through imaging studies.
It had a total duration of 180 minutes: 40 minutes were devoted to the identification of the radiological anatomy of the brain and spinal cord, followed by 40 minutes of intra and extra-axial injuries followed by 15 minutes of refreshment, followed by 40 minutes of diagnosis of ischemic and hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease and was completed with 40 minutes of diagnosis of epidural, subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The project took place in the facilities of the PUCE, in auditorium 1 of Tower 1, on January 12, 2019 from 09h00 to 12h00 and registration had a value of $ 3.00, canceled by bank transfers and through direct payment in the AEM PUCE.
Diagnostic tests interpretation
CVD is the most frequent neurological disease with a global incidence of 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants each year. The sequelae can only be avoided by making an adequate diagnosis. We speak of ischemic CVD in 87% of the time (AHA), but it is essential to be certain of the CVD´s nature in order to decide whether to use it or not immediate fibrinolytic therapy, or other measures according to the case, which can provide a better prognosis, and this is only possible thanks to imaging studies.

Objectives and indicators of success:
1. Explain the basic radiological anatomy of the encephalon and spinal cord (training of general practitioners) to a group of 50 students from health areas, through a theoretical workshop taught by professionals in the area to reinforce the knowledge that allows to make a adequate clinical correlation, during the first 40minutesof the workshop: Active participation in the workshop and correct answers in the theoretical questions of the feedback form.
2. To identify the characteristic findings in imaging studies of intra- and extra-axial lesions and those produced by ischemic and hemorrhagic processes (CVD and TBI) to a group of 50 students from health areas, through a theoretical workshop given by professionals in the area to facilitate an adequate clinical correlation, during the last 120 minutes of the workshop: Active participation in the workshop and correct answers in the theoretical questions of the feedback form.
3. Encourage the ability to organize projects by the active members of OIECS PUCE through the delegation of functions to each member throughout the process of organizing the workshop: Commitment and interest in organizing more activities.

Plans for evaluation:
Two weeks after the event an electronic form was sent to each participant with the purpose of evaluating the project and so that the assistants can obtain the certificate that supports their participation, this form consisted of the following questions:
1. List 3 intraaxial lesions
2. What is the sign of ischemic CVD and how does it look?
3. How does an epidural hemorrhage differ from a subdural hemorrhage?
4. From 1 to 5 grade the exhibitor quality
5. From 1 to 5 rate the quality of the snack
6. From 1 to 5 rate the quality of the project organization
