Type of the activity: Education. Education on health issues for specific societal groups, either in the form of projects (set of tasks for a certain group over a fixed period of time), events (something notable that happens) or conferences (form meeting about ideas related to a particular topic, usually over several days).
“Schools 4 Change is a Training of Trainers (ToT) to Training of Peers (ToP). Firstly, 30 students from a school in Rawalpindi will be trained through a two day training module on prevention of risk factors of NCDs. Then, in the second phase, the program will enable these students by providing them the necessary tools, guidance and resources to go to dissipate the knowledge and teach their class fellows through class room discussion.
The training will be conducted by the organizers, who are all medical students. These trainings will be conducted in November 2018. The project will be conducted in collaboration with the Together We Can Foundation and KL-YES (US Embassy), which will provide technical and administrative support, volunteers and resource development. “
Prevention of NCDs and Health Promotion
Global burden of NCDs threatens the health, wellbeing and prosperity of all people. They contribute to more than 70% of the deaths worldwide.
NCDs most important of which are CVS diseases, diabetes, cancer and COPD; on one hand cause sever individual & family impoverishment in terms of prolonged suffering, diminished resources, emotional depravity, NCDs also pose as a barrier to economic development of the countries.

Objectives and indicators of success:
“1.To educate school students about their vulnerability to non-communicable diseases
2.To educate them about the risk factors of NCDs and how to protect themselves
3.To guide schools to bring interventions to increase students’ health
4.To change youth attitudes around unhealthy foods and physical activity
Schools 4 Change consists of two parts; the Training Camp, and the Classroom discussion.
In the Training of Trainers, 30 school students from grade 10 and 11 (Secondary School, and Higher Secondary Schools in Pakistan) receive a two-days extensive training on the following topics:
1. Unhealthy diets and NCDs
2. Importance of Physical Activities
3. Mental Health
4.Youth advocacy for NCDs

Plans for evaluation:
“An evaluation officer will be appointed. Support will be provided by the Together We Can Foundation. The tools employed for evaluation of the Training program will include:
-Pre and post KAP (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice) Assessment forms
-Focus groups and Open Interviews
Multiple indicators will be established according to the objectives of the project, and achievement of those indicators will be measured through the evaluation methods mentioned above.”
