General description:

Virtual campaign at national level on the different clinical manifestations characteristic of the Parkinson’s Disease and on the different semiological techniques to make the diagnosis of this, with the purpose of contributing to the future doctor the knowledge on the existence of this pathology and that allows him to recognize to a patient with this pathology, making use of clinical reasoning.

Infographics that contain the clinical picture and the semiological findings will be prepared for the physical examination of a patient with Parkinson’s, the same will be published on April 11, World Parkinson’s Day with the support of the following labels: #SlowlyButSafe #AllWeNeedIsDopamine

Problem statement:

Parkinson’s disease affects more than 1% of the population over 65 years and is slightly more frequent in men than in women (55% -60%). The diagnosis is based on the exposed clinical data, to which must be added the good response to treatment with and the careful exclusion of secondary parkinsonisms, therefore, it is important that the clinician clinically have the necessary knowledge to make the definitive diagnosis as the differential diagnoses.

Objectives and indicators of success:

– General Objective: To provide the student with the semiological tools and clinical knowledge to adequately perform the diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.

– Specific Objectives:

o Recognize the motor, sensitive, cognitive and psychiatric clinical manifestations that the patient with Parkinson’s Disease presents.

o Determine the semiological methods that allow the diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.

o Train the student to make the differential diagnosis between Parkinson’s disease and other pathologies that cause tremor.

– Success Indicators:

o Number of informative virtual campaigns published in the social networks of local societies.

o Number of infographics made by local officials.

o Level of knowledge acquired by medical students.

o Reception of the virtual campaign by the medical students of the country.

Methodology:

– Establish the problem, the objectives to be addressed, the specific issues which should be developed and the group of beneficiaries.

– Development of the advertising flyer of the activity “Shake It With Proud”.

– Realization and revision of the material (infographics) prepared by the local officials that will be used for the campaign.

– Publication in the social networks of FEVESOCEM and the local societies of the different visual materials prepared on April 11th, World Parkinson´s Day.

Plans for evaluation:

The monitoring of the activity carried out by the LOME according to what is established in the guidelines that were sent to each one of them, will be done through consecutive revisions of the visual material that will be published in social networks, in order to have a feedback and be directed to the local official for the development of the activity, after that the evaluation of the activity will be done through the graphic evidence (infographics) of the different campaigns made by local societies.
