General description:

The CECIM is one of the flagship events of the Association of Scientific Societies of Medical Students of Colombia – ASCEMCOL. Each year it brings together approximately 700 students from different semesters of medicine in the country to participate in an academic congress focused on topics of interest for the future general practitioner.

For 2019, we expect to generate an event with high quality in scientific evaluation, with unique experiences for its participants and with memorable activities that celebrate the 30th anniversary of its foundation. of the ASCEMCOL and the 10 years of foundation of the ASCEM UdeA.

This same Committee has decided that the theme of the CECIM 2019 is ANESTHESIOLOGY, RESUSCITATION AND PAIN MEDICINE; This decision was born by observing the importance of updating in these areas for the general practitioner and thus perform as an integrated and multidisciplinary professional.

Objectives and indicators of success:

GENERAL:

• Generate a space for the academic update in Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Medicine of the medical student and the general practitioner, as well as for scientific development through the strengthening of critical, investigative and proactive training.

SPECIFIC:

• Promote the meeting with students of the country in research, as well as a contact with recognized researchers in the national and international field. (Our indicator of success for this event is to receive the registration of 400 attendees)

• Disseminate clinical cases, medical photography, protocols and health research work, carried out by undergraduate students and contribute to their training in the field of scientific research. (Our indicator of success is to receive 100 jobs in total including all the categories of the scientific competitions)

• Promote the publication and presentation in similar international events of the papers presented, establishing a prioritization according to the results of the evaluation obtained by each one of them. (Our indicator of success is that at least 1 of the winners of the scientific competitions present their work in a Congress of international stature)

Methodology:

• Board of Directors: It is responsible for supervising and ensuring that the objectives are met by each of the divisions, in turn its work also focuses on being an active part of the processes and ensuring financial and logistical support from entities and organizations national and international that are linked to the event.

• Scientific Division: To date, we have the full schedule of the conference papers, as well as the speakers of each of these, these speakers already have a letter of commitment to attend the event. There are also the spaces, the theme and those in charge of carrying out the pre-congress workshops. The scientific competitions are already underway and there are more than 50% of the attendees proposed in the success indicator; for the evaluation of scientific competitions, there is a methodological evaluator and an expert evaluator in the area; These evaluators already have a letter of commitment to participate in the event.

Plans for evaluation:

To ensure compliance with the indicators of success, the organizing committee meets once a week to evaluate the progress of each of the divisions, supervise the fulfillment of the pending activities and follow up on the difficulties and needs to find the pertinent solutions. After the activity a meeting will be held to evaluate the overall balance, the success indicators will be evaluated, the objectives proposed at the beginning of the management, those that were achieved and those that could not be met; the evaluation must include the causes that led to the non-fulfillment of the objectives and these will be in writing to be delivered to all interested parties and mainly to carry out a feedback process for the same event in the following year.
